The International History Bee and Bowl is delighted to announce that it held the first of its 2013 competitions – the History Bee and Bowl of France – on Saturday, 26 January at the American School of Paris in Saint Cloud. Four schools were represented at the tournament, and indeed, a different school came away with each of the four titles on offer! Congratulations to Lycée Robert de Luzarches which defended its title in the Varsity History Bowl, and to the International School of Paris, which likewise defended its title in the Junior Varsity History Bowl. In the Varsity History Bee, congratulations go out to Sam Kuster of the American School of Paris for yet another successful title defense. In the Junior Varsity History Bee, though, we have a new champion this year – Vikram Prasad who came all the way from the American School of London to compete in very impressive fashion. All schools and all participants are to be congratulated – the level of play overall was notably higher than last year, so it’s great to see the hard work in preparation from all schools pay off! We hope that everyone will also join us for our European Championships at the International School of Paris on 1-2 June; students and teams who qualified are also welcome at our US National Championships on 27-28 April in Washington, DC as well.
Thanks to David Lynn and the American School of Paris for hosting, and to all who came for another great History Bee and Bowl of France!
